Do you run an account on Instagram and would like to engage your audience with interesting questions on Instastory? In my today’s post, you will find 40 examples of out-of-the-box questions on IG that you can use on your profile.
I’ve divided the questions into those that are ideal for company profiles and those that suit personal accounts.

Instagram story questions – why is it worth asking them?

Instagram story questions are an ideal way to engage your audience and friends. In addition, it is a great way to entertain your audience and keep them on your profile for longer.

Creating questions on IG has another benefit that is particularly important for companies. It enables them to get important feedback and information from their audience and customers, for example on the attractiveness of their offer, satisfaction with their customer service or the products they offer.

Instagram users love all sorts of questions, surveys and quizzes – whether they are about trivia and focused on entertainment or about more serious matters and the company’s offer.

How to create Instagram story questions?

Questions on IG can be created in four ways. This is done using the stickers available in the options for creating Stories on Instagram.

To ask an open-ended question on Stories, use the sticker called ‘Questions’. It is then the recipient’s job to complete the ‘Type something’ field themselves.

They do not want to spend too much time answering comprehensively in whole sentences. They therefore prefer surveys and quizzes that entertain them and allow them to share their opinions much more quickly.

To engage your audience, I therefore recommend using stickers such as ‘Poll’, ‘Quiz’ or a slider with an emoticon. However, this does not mean that I advise against asking open-ended questions. These are the ones that are best suited to extracting important information from the audience, crucial especially for companies.

With surveys, of course, there is no such thing, because all answers are correct. A survey is about finding out the viewpoint of the recipient.

The slider with the emoticon also allows you to quickly find out the viewpoint of the recipient. By moving the emoticon to the right, the user indicates how much he or she likes a certain idea (e.g. a certain product).

To create Instagram story questions, simply:

  1. go to your profile on Instagram, select the plus icon at the top and click “Story”,
  2. select a background from the gallery (photo or graphic),
  3. select the sticker icon highlighted in the screenshot below,Instagram story questions - how to make them
  4. select one of the stickers for creating questions that I described earlier, i.e. Questions, Quiz, Poll or slider with an emoticon,
  5. complete the questions and answers.
