In the app and the web version of Instagram, it is not possible to open a profile picture in full size. This is not allowed by the default settings of the service. However, you can enlarge any profile picture on Instagram in other ways, specifically in 3 different clever ways that I describe in today’s post. 😉

How to enlarge your profile picture on Instagram – 3 ways
Let me get straight to the point, which is three quick and clever ways to enlarge your or someone’s profile picture on Instagram. Choose the method that is most convenient for you.
Method 1. Use an external online tool
In response to user demand, many tools have popped up online that allow you to open Instagram photos at full size. Below I list the tools that I have tested myself and know to be safe. 🙂
Instazoom.cc tool
The first tool tested allows you to enlarge any profile picture from Instagram in full HD. To use it, go to instazoom.cc, enter the username of your choice without the ‘@’ sign and click the green ‘Submit’ button. In order not to violate anyone’s privacy, I, for the sake of example, typed in the Instagram username of the charity foundation. 🙂
In a further step, click the green “Open profile picture” button.
The enlarged profile picture from Instagram will show up after a while. 🙂
Infact.com tool
A tool that works on a similar principle to the previous one, except that the pictures do not display in full HD. So they have a slightly lower quality. So it shows this one more as a curiosity. 🙂
To use this tool, open inflact.com/downloader/instagram/avatar/, enter the username (this time with an ‘@’ sign) and click the blue Download button.
After a moment, an enlarged profile picture from Instagram will be displayed.
Method 2: Use Facebook
If for some reason you don’t want to use external, little-known tools to enlarge photos on Instagram, you can also use Facebook for this.
Most people on Instagram also have Facebook accounts. Enlarging profile pictures on the latter is also possible.
To do this, log in to Facebook from a browser on your computer, go to the desired profile and click on the profile picture. If the user in question has added a story, you will see a window with 2 options to choose from: “View story” and “View profile picture”. Obviously, you should select the latter.
The profile picture will then be displayed in full size.
Method 3. Take and enlarge a screenshot
The third simple way to enlarge a profile picture on Instagram is to take a screenshot on your phone and then enlarge it in the gallery. However, this method is not ideal due to the significant loss of quality. This is because a photo enlarged in this way will be slightly blurred. If you don’t mind, however, open the profile you are interested in on Instagram and take a screenshot.
Depending on the smartphone model, screenshots are taken slightly differently – on my Samsung, for example, you just hold down the power button and the volume down at the same time. These buttons are located on the sides of the phone. Information on how to take screenshots on your smartphone can certainly be found online.
Once you’ve taken a screenshot, find it in your phone’s gallery, then place two fingers on the screen and spread them apart. Then swipe one finger across the screen to display the enlarged profile picture from Instagram.
